Purpose and preparation
Adult-led shared reading for families or early-years groups. Printed cards stay with the adult, away from babies' mouths. These six entries are a selection, not twelve body-part labels.
Suggested responses
- Find each phrase in the story. Invite an older child to match a card to the relevant action or picture.
- Cut along the card borders if desired. An adult reads a meaning and the child points to its card. No independent baby matching test is intended.
- Spellings were visually checked against the proof glossary. Pronunciations and any new language teaching still need fluent-speaker review.
Support and stretch
Say or point together; do not assess a baby against school literacy standards. For older children, draw a relevant moment on the reverse.
Teaching links
Suggested England English: discussing reading and explaining ideas. US literacy links apply only to the stated school age group, not automatically to babies. Adapt to the learner; these materials are not an accredited curriculum.
